Nowadays, AI and automation now handle the repetitive, high-volume work, like  basic queries, data entry, initial triage, which can technically free human staff for specific judgment calls that empathy, escalation, and decisions that don’t fit a script.

However, the competitive edge in BPO today isn’t choosing AI over people; it’s how well a provider combines both – from automating what can be automated to keeping humans on what actually needs a human. Providers who get that balance right cut costs and respond faster, while providers still doing everything manually are falling behind on both.
