Building a Social Media Presence from the Ground Up
For tuition and enrichment centres, social media is an important way to stay visible to parents, showcase teaching expertise, and build familiarity. However, maintaining an active presence requires consistent content planning, creation, and management.
For this Singapore-based tuition and enrichment centre, its social media channels had previously received little attention, with minimal activity and little to no existing audience. Its Instagram presence, in particular, had to be built essentially from scratch. This resulted in:
- Limited visibility among parents and prospective students
- Little opportunity to showcase the centre’s programmes and teaching approach
- Inconsistent or inactive social media content
- Low engagement and limited audience growth
- An established offline business without a comparable online presence
The centre needed a consistent social media management strategy that could establish its online presence, create useful and engaging content for parents and students, and gradually build visibility and engagement across its social channels.
Our Solution
Outpost developed a structured social media management workflow to help the tuition centre build a consistent online presence and grow engagement across its previously inactive channels.
Content planning was done twice a month, every 1st and 15th, with a content calendar and post suggestions matrix submitted to the client for review before production.
- Bi-monthly content planning based on relevant education topics, parent interests, and the centre’s programmes
- Content calendar preparation for the client to review and approve in advance
- Creation of reels, carousels, static posts, and other social content based on the approved direction
- Client approval before publishing to ensure accuracy and alignment with the centre’s messaging
- Cross-posting across Instagram and Facebook to maximise the reach of each piece of content
- Content designed to be fun, educational, and inspiring, rather than purely promotional
- Consistent account management to gradually build activity, visibility, and engagement
This gave the centre a repeatable social media process. The team can then stay involved in content direction without having to manage the day-to-day planning, creation, and publishing themselves.

The Outcome
Following implementation, the tuition and enrichment centre achieved:
- Established an active Instagram presence from the ground up, transforming a previously unused channel into a consistently managed platform
- More consistent social media activity across both Instagram and Facebook
- Improved online visibility and engagement through regular, audience-focused content
- Greater variety in content, including reels, carousels and educational posts designed to be fun, informative and inspiring
- A structured content approval process, allowing the client to maintain oversight while Outpost handled the day-to-day execution
This gave the centre a more consistent and professional social media presence.

Customer messages handled monthly across channels

“We had been meaning to improve our social media presence for quite some time, but it was difficult for our team to consistently create and post content on top of running the centre.
Outpost helped us put a proper structure in place. They plan the content with us twice a month, prepare the posts for our review, and handle the publishing once we have approved everything.
What I appreciate most is that the content still feels appropriate for our students and parents. It is educational, engaging and not overly promotional. We now have a much more active and professional online presence.”
